🌞 Final Day Preview – Sunday, April 6th: A Grand Finale to Remember
Our closing day is here, and it’s going to be a beautiful blend of conversation, history, and celebration.
First off, what a day! Day 4 of the Puerto Aventuras International Film Festival delivered everything we hoped for and more—passionate audiences, unforgettable premieres, and conversations that carried long after the credits rolled.
A huge thank you to everyone who packed the PA Beach Club for last night’s screenings. The response to our world premieres was incredible:
🌱 The Power of One left audiences inspired and hopeful, as the story of a conservationist's journey to restore a devastated jungle through the planting of 10,000 trees reminded us all of the change one person can spark.🌿 Voces de la Selva Maya, presented by Greenpeace, brought powerful emotion and purpose to the screen, amplifying the voices of Indigenous communities standing on the front lines of ecological defense. Both films were followed by engaging filmmaker Q&As, and the enthusiastic turnout made for a truly electric atmosphere.
Meanwhile, Screen B delivered a captivating experience of psychological storytelling, with Poyyamozi and Katabasistaking viewers deep into forests of mystery and emotional shadowlands.

🍽️ Talk with Roman Rivera Torres + Screening of Puerto Aventuras 1989 (11AM @ Nauti Burro)
We begin the day with a very special Talk featuring Roman Rivera Torres, the visionary founder of Puerto Aventuras, held alongside an exclusive screening of Puerto Aventuras 1989—a piece of recovered and restored footage that offers a nostalgic glimpse into the early days of this incredible community. Join us at Nauti Burro for a morning of reflection, storytelling, and local history brought to life on screen.
🎨 And don’t forget—bidding closes today on the silent auction for Jesse Montenegro’s original acrylic painting! This one-of-a-kind piece has received multiple bids and buzz throughout the festival. If you’ve had your eye on it, now’s the moment to make your move—bids close after the morning session.
✨ Red Carpet Gala, Awards Ceremony & Closing Night Reception (6PM @ Dreams Resort):
We’ll wrap this extraordinary week in style with our red carpet gala at Dreams Resort. Come dressed to impress as we announce this year’s award-winning films, celebrate our incredible community of filmmakers, and enjoy a festive closing night reception by the sea. It’s the perfect way to say farewell—for now.
